Catherine Tyldesley has revealed both of her parents are battling the coronavirus. The former Coronation Street star, 36, also said she believes her husband Tom Pitfield caught the virus on a plane journey late last year.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on a video link, she said her parents Janet and Graham were now improving but that it had been “a bit of a slog”.
She said: “Every time we think they're getting better they seem to go backwards, but I do feel 100 per cent that they have started to turn a corner now.
"Last week my dad got taken to hospital and they said to him they felt his odds were okay for him to go home.
“The nurse actually said, 'You'll be much better off at home, we don't feel like you're in direct danger at the moment,' so we're really fortunate that they are both recovering at home.
"But my mum said to me she had never seen my dad so poorly, and it's so worrying because all I want to do is give them a hug, but I’m dropping food parcels at the end of the driveway and that’s all I can do really.
The star also said she thought her husband caught the virus on a flight late last year.
She told host Lorraine Kelly
that he showed symptoms after they flew to Dubai on holiday.
